About The Book
Joseph, Froggy, and Mrs. Slattery
This book is a republication. The story is true. Only names of those involved have been changed. Selective mutism is a difficult problem to overcome. But, with the student described in this book, we were successful-no easy task with this condition. After the interventions which included the student, the teacher, the parents, and myself as counselor, I told all involved that I would eventually write a book about this experience.
About The Book
Catch that Can
Catch that Can is a whimsical tale of boys playing a game of kick the can. However, during the game something quite unexpected happens. Kick the can quickly turns into catch the can!
Although just meant to be a fun read, it deals with friendship, loyalty and even environmental awareness.
About The Book
Who's Looking at Whom
Most people, especially children, love rhyming books. There is just something about the rhythm of reading them that is simply candy to the ear!
As a primary school counselor, father and grandfather I have read many such books to children. I would tell them that they could help me read the book because they were “rhyming detectives”. That is, if they were listening carefully they could figure out the pattern and guess the upcoming word or words.
About The Book
Let's Go, Rudolph!
It’s Christmas Eve and Santa’s reindeer are chomping at the bit to take off. They look forward to their trip every year, bringing gifts to boys and girls all over the world.
However, when Santa comes outside, ready to leave he notices a big problem, Rudolph is missing!

In addition to his counseling work, Edward channeled his passion for children into writing children’s books. His books covered various themes, from playful and fun stories to bibliotherapy for issues like bad dreams, separation anxiety, and a parent leaving home.

I can’t quite make out what book I’m reading to the students. It looks like a kindergarten class-they look a bit “lively”. Whenever I taught my guidance lessons I had to teach two classes at a time due to time constraints. I always caught a case of the “giggles” when I was in kindergarten as they always said something to make me laugh

As a former primary school principal and special education administrator and teacher, I highly recommend this book. It has a simple rhyming cadence (which include math), vivid illustrations, and a high interest book for new readers. I would recommend this for a teacher’s library without hesitation. Well Done.
